1. You will take up your position in the post allotted to you

and will not move from your post until relieved.

2. The alarm signal is a series of short blasts on a whistle.

You will prevent any attempt on the part of internees to

escape. If any attempt to escape is made, you will first

shout a warning. Should this have no effect, you will

open fire on the individual or individuals making the

attempt. You will cease fire immediately it is clear that

the attempt has been abandoned.

You will sound the alarm signal on any attempt to escape,

on an outbreak of fire, on any disturbance or unusual occur

rence, or on the lighting system failing. You will continue

sounding the alarm until it is clear that the sentries on

both sides of you have heard and have repeated the signal.

On hearing the alarm signal you will repeat it until it

has been repeated by the sentries on both sides of you.
